Front n/s damage

Featured Replies

11 plate Fabia diesel 1.6 estate.

Damaged via a bollard to the front plastic section under the light module. Light is ok.

Looks like the whole wrap round assembly or unit has to be replaced.

It is bird **** just above and below the joint. so the section above the joint is ok.

Ideas of cost please and is it DIY or a garage?

Rear bumpers are around £375 from a dealer, painted and fitted. I would recon fronts to be similar at least for paint and fitment. The part's price might vary.

Car Parts Express on eBay will supply one, painted and shipped for around £250 if you are up to fitting it yourself. Can buy cheaper and get paint sorted but I thought that was an ok deal.

Probably cheaper to replace the whole bumper. Could probably fit it yourself, but painting etc......... If your lucky you might find a red one on Fleabay5afd8580a2aaa_keep-calm-that-ll-buff-right-out1.png.868a51f87879e8d133ee28bcd0372809.png

Ask a small independent to recommend any local guys. My local one man paint shop would repair and paint that for £80 (seems to be his standard price) and he does a better job than most large repair places.

^^^ £80 is nice. 'Much Cheapness'.

Take just £15 an hour or less in wages, dead cheap sourced materials, or free, no overheads to pay, no workshop, energy, insurance etc, no VAT charged, no questions asked no taxes paid as no profits made.

Best get quotes from bodyshops, see just how much a trades person wants.

No ski, this guy is an established detailer, working on his own from an industrial estate unit. He is happy to do 2 jobs a days at £80-£200. He is always booked up solid for at least 4 weeks and his main clients are BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche owners who come in regularly with minor bumps and scuffs.

Used him twice, once for a ripped/holed front bumper, you wouldnt know looking at the repair.

Good honest quality skilled people are out there, but they don't advertise so you have to search for them via contacts.

£80-£200 a whole different story. £80 seems standard price,

Job priced and quoted, any plastic welding done including removing parts, and refinishing, prepared, painted and replacing,

I was trained, qualified and time served and worked to a very high standard as a body repairer, painter, assessor of insurance and warranty work.
