Front Washer Jet Adjustment

Featured Replies

Hi, does anyone know how to adjust the front washer jets?

The two inner jets are very low and the two outer jets shoot over the Roof.

I got my pin ready the other day, 1987 was probably the last time I adjusted my XR3i jets....

Trouble is things have changed over the years and also I have heated jets. They look a bit funny and seem to be not adjustable.

It's usually a T-10 torx fitting which when turned will adjust the jet direction.  Don't use a pin, flat blade screw driver or similar to force the nozzle, it'll likely break them.  1/4 turn at a time and recheck.

Sorry I can't for the life of me remember which direction changes the jet up/down.  You have  good odds at 50/50 though

Thank you for the replies, I will try the Torx first then to see how that goes.

I'm getting really annoyed faffing with the rear jets. (hatchback)

As they sit quite a way back from the hole in the plastic cover, I'm struggling to get the jet of water to pass through the hole cleanly rather than hitting the plastic and basically just washing a patch just by the wiper spindle.

I have just looked at the rear jets, they are the ball type so they will be adjustable with a pin. Insert pin and move ball.

I have adjusted the fronts but both jets move together, the rear I have opened up the black plastic shroud holes, now there is an amazing amount of washer fluid on the rear screen.

Good idea, I will have to do the same I think.
