How to add extra info at bottom of each post?

Featured Replies

Now I know this is probably posted in the wrong place, but you guys who know more about computers than me might easily answer this question, Whenever some of you post something, you have added at the bottom of each one of your posts additional info, mainly about your car. How do you add this information? Have looked through my profile etc, but not sure how to do it as yet.

Click on your profile name top right

Click on "Account settings"

You'll find you can then click on "signature" (further left)

Thank's a lot bigjohn, I will try that.

However I'm not sure how to add something like my Spritmonitor icon (it was put in with the previous version of software)

  1. I can edit it OK with ctrl "right click"
  2. If I try and add the same URL using "insert other media" & "insert image from url" - it won't let me save it (hightligts red)

It depends which bit is red. Is there a message as well or is it just the signature box that is red?

You should be ok to add images, links to your signature.

If it's the exact same code it might fail. I'd grab the latest code from spirit monitor to be sure. *copy the old one to a text file first *

I was just experimenting to try and insert my Spritmonitor MPG "image" that automatically updates at the moment. If i ctrl "right mouse click" I can edit this (see image attached)

However if I was starting from scratch how could I insert this, I can insert the image directy but not in a form that updates:-

http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/720963_41.png

[EDIT] I've found that if I insert an image as above then if I ctrl right click I can then edit as per attached image to make this work - bit of a bodge though. Just added a second one to my signature to try

If I try to insert - https://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/720963.html - then it goes red

or <a href="http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/720963.html" target="_blank"> <img src="http://images.spritmonitor.de/720963.png" alt="Spritmonitor.de" border="0"> </a>  as Spritmonitor suggest

I've not got a spritmon account, you could try changing the urls to be https:

We force everything to be https, wherer an image is http we have to do some proxying.  So what happens is the image is requested, we grab a copy and cache it, to serve it via https, otherwise you get browser warnings.

You might be seeing a null image if that process has not completed on the first request. Just a hunch.
