TPMS warning

Featured Replies

I checked my tyre pressures yesterday and they were all set at 42/43 psi.

I've dropped them all down to 36 (and couldt really notice any difference in the 3 miles I did afterwards).

I'm just wondering why didn't my TPMS warn me about a big loss of air, because I did them all together?

In the operating manual I noticed you need to reset the TPMS values after you change the pressures which I'll do later.

My old car actually displayed the pressure in each tyre.

The TPMS On Skodas really only monitors if the tyre diameter is equal on all four  wheels. So as you changed all four, there is no alarm.

Mine were incorrect by about 30%. The TPMS hadn't actually been set and needed me to confirm pressures were correct. I know this should have been sorted as part of the PDI but it seems to be a common theme on the forum that it has been missed.

I thought mine were correct as the ride wasn't uncomfortable.

Was surprised they were so high.

It does give an eco setting in the fuel filler at 2.7 bar / 40 psi.

Maybe this is what the PDI is using.

All 4 do not have to be at the same pressure when you set the TPMS. Or the Front and rear pairs being the same.

But it is supposed to then spot when the diameter of one changes, ie it goes round more times than it was set at.

What the PDI is using is just what the car left the Factory with for Transit and the Fitter / Technician changed nothing and never checked.
