stop/start

Featured Replies

Any details on the control module - mines booked in for start stop not working since I’ve purchased it 2nd hand month ago.

This possible fault has now been acknowledged at the third visit to the main dealer. I am now awaiting the part to be received and fitted at a later date. The low 12V battery warning is also connected with the faulty module, allegedly. We'll see.

On the previous two visits, no fault was recorded and the operating parameters as to why it was not working were quoted at me. Too cold outside, too short journeys- despite my long journeys not making much difference.

Mine is not working but the loan Karoq, used over similar journeys, had the stop/start working within 10 seconds from cold today- and working non stop on my short journey.

So fingers crossed for me and good luck for you.

The battery monitor module was replaced on quite a few of the early cars from 2013/2014 when they had problems with StopStart if I remember correctly so I'd assume your dealer diagnosis is good.

There were a few posts in some of the stopstart threads from a few years ago about it.

Unless its really cold outside by car will StopStart usually within 500m of leaving my garage when I reach the traffic lights at the end of the road so the behaviour of the Karoq is in line with how I'd expect the system to work.

Fingers crossed it fixes it.

My car is a 2016 build though. I just want the car to work and display information correctly. Probably will not use the Stop/Start in a situation where I'm shuffling forward in a queue. But cutting out at traffic lights is fine.

Correction, 1.0 Tsi and still very enjoyable.:wondering:
