GAP insurance

Featured Replies

Hi all

apologies if this is in the totally wrong place

i am considering purchasing a TDI VRS estate soon

dealership is offering a relatively good deal for what I am looking for, they have said that they can include GAP insurance for 450 for 3 years but I feel it’s abit steep.

has anyone purchased GAP insurance from a 3rd party? Does the above seem too much?

Do people bother with GAP ?

Thoughts appreciated

Might be worth checking out the Briskoda gap insurance.

It is worthwhile having if you are involved in a accident, might be worth haggling the dealer down a bit on the price.

There's lots of options going to places like Gap Direct, amongst others. Probably get a 4 or 5 year deal with replacement vehicle rather than back to invoice for less than the dealers offer.

Thanks for the responses

i will have a look around and see if I can barter the dealer down on it

I've had quotes for my GTi for 3 years at £120ish. When we were offered it at £450 through Skoda I said I can get it cheaper elsewhere and they quite quickly halved the price. Worth a go!

Hi,

Just to let you know that we offer a product called Total Loss Protection. Whilst it's not exactly the same as your traditional GAP insurance we feel for some customers it can make a cost effective alternative. Please feel free to take a look if you wish.

Thanks.

Dan.

I used Click4Gap on my old focus and again on the wife’s Citigo. Dealer offered 3 years (PCP is 42 months) for £500. Click4Gap was about £180 for 4 years!

Other thing I like about them is they have a phone line to call, rather than just email...and I have called them and there is a person at the other end :D
