USB Splitter?

Featured Replies

I bought a tiny flash drive to leave plugged in & play my music from (still able to slide the charging tray drawer shut). However, it's just dawned on me that I may also need to plug my mobile phone in - for Android Auto?

Has anybody bought a splitter & can recommend?

You're getting an edition right?

I put all my music on an SD card and just left it in the slot in the glovebox.

Otherwise you've got about 10GB of space on the internal hard drive, copy the files over from the USB stick.

I keep all my music on the SD and free's up the USB ;)

I've never done it, but from the Android Auto product forum, I suspect that there's no certainty that a splitter would work. It might be worth trying the best rated on Amazon and having a go. I know my Pixel 2 XL probably wouldn't fit in the drawer with the lid shut with a splitter and a USB drive in there too.

I'd tend to go with the SD card suggestion. It's what we do.

Pressed Enter too quick.

How about using the 12v socket as the charger? Doesn't sort the Android auto element but as a quick fix?

Alternatively, I keep all my music on my phone and I either Android auto or stream to Bluetooth?

Good point. A 12v > USB adaptor would run the memory stick leaving the *proper* USB socket for the phone and AA (essential).

Might not be able to close the lid though.

Thanks for your replies.

I might go down the sd card route then.

16Gb SD cards on Amazon for around £7.50
