Tyres for VRS (again, sorry)

Featured Replies

I know this often gets asked but

I need to change all 4 of my Octy Estate 03 plate VRS tyres (currently 16" Michelin Primacy 3's)  I'd appreciate any suggestions for all-season replacements.

I live in an area with lots of speed bumps/potholes, drive less than 8k a year ( some motorway most urban) have family aboard so drive safe

and need to know that those tyres are gonna grip when needed.

Thanks in advance.

I am running Uniroyal Rainsport 3's  on my 53 Vrs Estate - In my opinion (which is all I can base this on) they are excellent in the wet. They stand up well to the appalling roads in Liverpool, and I will happily buy them again, especially at the price.

Before reading absolutuk's post, I was going to reply with Uniroyal Rainsport 3's also, they're great in the wet, great in the dry, relatively quiet and not that expensive either!

Love them on my VRS. My only criticism, is that the side walls seem to flex more when driving faster, so sometimes I've felt a small 'washing out' feeling from the front when cornering faster then normal. But, they've held their grip and pulled me through the other side of the corner without any dramas.

thanks thats 2 for the Unriroyals !

Anyone else have suggestions? Yr ideas  much appreciated

@eddie1 - OK, I drive an Elegance, but that uses the same tyre size as the vRS estate. My favourite in your required W speed rating is the Toyo Proxes T1-R. Just run them 2PSI up on what the filler flap says (based on experiences from multiple sets and users).
