Oil filler cap

Featured Replies

Fabia SE 1.2. I have unscrewed the oil filler cap to find that the hole is blocked by a metal unit of some sort. Should this be removed as well or has it come apart from the cap. I never seen anything like this before. Please help.

Can you post a photo of the inside of the cap, and one of the hole?

Okay, it might take me a few days but I'll try. Thanks for answering. This is obviously not a easy one but there must be thousands of owners who have the same model as me and have come across the same problem.

Don't bother, just compare what you see with this, and describe any differences.

This is looking sideways across from the driver's side wing:

That's it exactly. So I do I just pour the oil on to that surface?

Yes, but slowly. If you look carefully you'll see that there is a hole ( on the left in my photo) that the oil goes down.

I never would have spotted that and the handbook was no help at all. Thank you very much for your help.
