Brake caliper wind-back tool for Fabia Mk I

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what model / make of tool I need to do my rear brake calipers, please?

You can get a generic kit off ebay for less than £20 which will pretty much cover any car.

Cheers. Yeah, I see they sell 'universal' kits for as little as ~£17. I was just wondering how truly  'universal' they were. Still, for that money, it's worth a punt, I suppose...

The key thing is, both sides are the same so a RH'd one will be okay and typically they come with a reversible adaptor with one side that suits these cars.

Perfect, I'd reckon, the crazy thing is, when someone posts up a link, when you go to it, you end up finding cheaper ones, or worse the same one cheaper - if anyone is clever enough to distinguish between "same as" and "almost similar to"!  Life is too short to waste over a couple of pounds?

Edit:- if you needed this today/tomorrow, I've found that Machine Mart is cheaper than most local shops for a cheapish one, £18 I think right now.

I got one for less than a tenner off ebay for my Octavia, worked a charm and made fitting new pads a doddle, also used it on the daughters punto to push the front pistons back, so, so much easier :)

Yes, I've used mine to push the front pistons back in, I seem to remember using a block of wood as an interface between the end of the tool and the end of the pistons.
