Can't tune my radio FM stations.

Featured Replies

Hi there. I am new to this. I have a 2017 skoda octavia rs but I can't tune in the radio stations. I can get DAB stations but not FM.  Has anyone come across this issue before? Thanks Ken.

I take it you're pressing the radio button again to get it onto the FM band?

Hi there, yes I have it on the FM band. Then I go to settings and press scan. It goes through all the fm band but doesn't find or sort any stations.

Thanks Ken

Could be the antenna has come loose from the back of the main headunit. It'll still be in warranty so get the dealer to have a look.

Can you get ny stations by manually tuning and saving; 88.4 for Radio 2 or 97.9 for Radio 1

Hi guys, it won't work manually either. I took out the main head unit and checked the cables at the back and the antenna they are all good.

I will book it in to main dealer. Thanks for the help,

FM radio is still available in the UK?

When is the big switch-off...?

I was amazed to realise that our new 75k gbp Volvo only has FM radio... DAB is not available as standard & has to be selected as a paid factory option.....

The FM switch off has been delayed again, because there are still many areas with poor or no DAB coverage and the adoption of DAB radios is still low - because of the poor coverage and the higher cost.

At home we cannot receive DAB in the house (but the cars are OK) even though we are only 15 miles from the transmitter - the signal is just too weak.

Have a UK import myself and have FM stations (Galway) no bother

When Nelson gets his eye back. They've been talking about it for years about doing the digital switch over like they did with the telly signal, but as said above, the signal just isn't upto scratch.

Norway switched FM off several years ago,  but before they done it, they invested heavily in the DAB transmitters. We, however, don't do things like that properly. Measure one and cut twice is our motto.

And we standardised on the crap, inefficient, ancient and long since superseded DAB standard. You get better sound quality off FM. Unfortunately there are apparently no plans to upgrade.

Hello jd83.

My problem was one of the 2 aerial connections was now fully plugged into the back of the radio unit in the top of glove box. You need to remove it and check all connections are pushed in correctly. Or it could be you have to press the radio button on the unit to select AM, FM, OR DAB RADIO.

I hope this helps.

Kenneth

Thanks for the reply, if been trying all buttons then dab, fm and am, no channels showing up at all. Il bring it back to the dealer next week to get it looked at.

Cheers
