Removing drivers door card

Featured Replies

Hi

has anyone had any experience in removing the drivers side front door card. I have a rattle when the music is up loutish and want to see if I can stop it.

The car car is under warranty but after previous dealing with Skoda I’d doubt they would be interested in fixing it under warranty.

Car is a 16 plate se l exec.

Thanks

1. On the bottom center of the door panel, there is a plastic "nut". Use flashlight to see its position but it must be turned 90 degrees.

2. Under the handle there is a hex bolt that you must remove. Sorry, dont know the size.

3. Use plastic leaver to remove windows switshes panel and remove their plugs.

4. Use plastic leaver to pull the panel clips open.

5. After all the plastic clips are off, pull the door panel upwards.

6. Remove all plugs and drainage tube for umbrella.

To remove door panel loud music rattles, you must put vibration mats (for example 1,8mm STP or 2mm Silent Coat or 1,8mm Dodomat) on the door panel. Especially around the speaker grilles.

EDIT: Panel plastic clips tend to break. I would buy few from your dealer. Just in case.
