Road Noise from Crossclimates!

Featured Replies

Help, i replaced the pirelli tyres on my Scout with Cross climates, the car then became a lot nosier at lower speeds, a rumbling type sound.

I contacted Blackcircles who replaced them for free.

This made me very suspicious!

The car is around 30,000 miles, had full service recently, 4 wheel laser alignment done, and no know issues!

Has anyone had issues with cross climates, or is there something else i should be checking?

?

Have you had your Haldex serviced yet, was it done at that 'full service' ?

some say 3 years but certainly 30,000 miles is time for it.

Not heard of CrossClimates with issues.

?

What tyres have you on now?

Had the Haldex serviced, they would only replace them with crossclimates, had them before, on our cars, with no issues

Also, when i noticed the noise, i rotated the tyres, front to back, noise got worse.

Crossclimates(not +) are really quiet (quieter than the Continentals it had before) on my 2wd Superb II. Is something amis with the 4wd?

Are you sure you put them on the right way round, they are directional tyres.

I am sure that they are on the right way round, and Blackcircles replaced them for free already

So

the saga continues, eventually got the car into Skoda Inverness, so it's the rear passenger wheel bearing.

But the warranty will cover the work, just not the test drive to find out what bearing?

They also found the cambelt tensioner was starting to fail.

Anyone ever had the warranty company (VWFS EXTENDED WARRANTY) NOT COVER THE DIAGNOSTICS?
