Hello from Derbyshire

Featured Replies

Next year myself and two other mates are taking a 2006 Skoda Estate 1.2 to Mongolia on the Mongol Rally. I imagine a few other people have done it in the same type of car, so maybe there's someone reading this who has done it in one!

I've been awarded the dubious role of chief mechanic due to my experience in fixing my old Mercedes 190, which is something the others may regret. So far, I've gotten rid of the boy racer alloys and replaced with steel wheels. I've got pretty much a full service in store for it, although I haven't got round to changing the coolant. Changing the gearbox oil seems a right faff too, considering the car is on 150k I think it's in order. Anyway, I hope to get acquainted with this forum as we prepare the car for a 20k mile trip and if you have any tips please do pipe up.

A warm welcome John and good luck driving in those vast empty hills!  Watch out for the horsemen though;)
