Monte Carlo 110 differences

Featured Replies

Hi all,

im looking at purchasing a 1.0 tsi110bhp Fabia Monte Carlo, new.  I test drive a 110bhp SEL today as that had no Monte Carlo to drive. I realise the seats/style/steering wheel are different, but outside of this will they drive identically?

thanks

in advance

julian.

Welcome.

Someone that has the current cars will be along with the answer hopefully.

?

Are you going to buy one that is built now but new, or ordering one so a Face Lift model which will maybe feel the same and drive the same but will

have a GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) ?

?

Did you ask at the dealership on the delivery time of a new car if from the factory and not already in stock or on the way to a dealers?

At the moment they would be able to source me the current car, some still out there. I would have the option to wait, but the way things are looking with wltp, I wouldn’t want to. I could end up saying till Christmas and I need a car in the next month or 2.

Be sure to negotiate hard on a good price, they need to get punted cars they have before September or they will be First Registering them before and having to sell pre-reg.

Having test-driven a Monte Carlo 110 TSI prior to buying my 110TSI SE L, I can say the only differene is the seats...slight diference, but the SE L seats are fine for 150+ Miles between breaks....just haven't done longer stretches...and the red trim in the MC. My SE L has climate control vs the MC having aIrcon.  My SE L has the pano roof. In performance/chassis terms, they are the same car.  Mine is DSG is what asked for.

I see the MC as being something of a cynical marketing exercise on Skoda's part. Sporty pretensions, but no more SPORTY than any other 110 TSI. I'm sure you'd be happy with either, so let it be your decision how you spend your hard-earned.

Just go for it.....with a big discount, preferably.

Yes definitely  a big discount! :D

Thanks for the replies, that’s what I really wanted to know, if they drive the same. The discounts are reasonable,£1400 + £2000 deposit contribution.

As stock sits getting nearer to August if there is stock the more keen they will be to shift them.

Just a case of deciding how long you can wait, 'he / she who hesitates and all that,  or 'who dares wins!'.

If I wasn't bothered about any extras I'd take it right up to the last week of August and make sure it's a 68 plate.

Im fine on waiting so may do exactly that and see what comes. If I fail, well I’ll get a new/Facelifted one.

To be a 68 plate it will need to be First Registered 1st September or later, and will need to have the WLTP if a Skoda.

No WLTP and only some low volume manufacturers will be able to have them first registered after August.

Oh well,it's a number,still worth a good discount.

The discounts  have started to climb, a Monte Carlo with dsg and sat nav/infotainment for 14k. Very tempting.

Visual differences between the monte and the SE L trim are Monte Carlo has black alloys, black front splitter, black diffuser.

The dealer has only 2 fabia Monte Carlos left in stock both red dsg. I wanted manual, that’s all he has got! Not estates though.
