Suberb L&K Stolen Help, Can I TRACK it?

Featured Replies

Hello my skoda superb 2.0 L&K 65 plate has been stolen from me. Does any genius know of a way to use the cars infotainment system or similar to track? Are there any SIMS whatsoever fitted into the car?

It's not a 2017 with the SOS module :(

KESSY ?

As far as I am aware the KESSY system doesn't allow you to track your vehicle. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think Martin was curious if it had KESSY and whether they'd used a repeater to steal it.

I think either a dealer or contacting Skoda directly is the best way to get this answered, sorry :)

Apple maps on my iPhone ( 8+ ) tells me where my 230 is parked as my phone is paired to the telephone/radio Via bluetooth.  I trust you use a mobile, does your phone offer the same

Hiya, yes it's a good shout. imaps tells you the last place you got out of the car. It doesn't tell us the location if the car moves without me :(

I hate the idea that these scumbags can get away with stealing it. I wish there was a way to find it and catch the people involved - other than a time machine.

So no use then, worth a punt I suppose.

No good to you now, but there are plenty of companies that sell/market tracking devices, some insurances companies even give discount if one is installed - mine does.

I've had a 'low level' one installed for the last five years. Comes in pretty handy when your vehicle is in for warranty work and the mechanic decides to take it on a 'test drive' when it should be safely locked up - 2000, and again at 2230. They insisted I remove both my dashcams as it made them uncomfortable having someone watching over them.

Was it by any chance a dark car with a beige interior?

No, it was a 65 plate, not a 66 plate.

This does worry me, as messy looks like a complete liability.

would be nice if you could disable the locking/unlocking feature from the infotainment system so a repeat attack can’t be used.

fingers crossed your car is recovered.

I've popped a cheap iPhone in my car which is connected to the USB which isn't obvious unless you know much about the car. I use it for Spotify and my music but also as a tracker  My thoughts are it probably won't be the first thing the thieves think of if they steal my car. It has a cheap contract sim in it and then if it is stolen I can track it with iCloud maps. Even if they do find it and throw it, I may have some idea of the direction it took.
