Im getting old ...

Featured Replies

and i'm thinking about trading my Clio 172 for a Fabia VRS. Will I miss the Clio? I do tend to miss the Clio when it is in the garage ... which is a lot!

depends on what you want from your car.

I've come from a saxo VTS (had a few cars in between) which again was in the garage all the time. I dont regret it nor do I miss the VTS.

But on the other hand I do a fair bit of mileage so I need a diesel, if diesel is not a requirement then maybe a Seat ibiza 1.8 would be better.

we've had a few debates on here, as of the pro's and con's between the 172 and the vRS, I'll comment on your statement about reliablity (and what someone else just replied with a french car!)

I'm a driving instructor, and had a C2 GT before this, which was always breaking, and the gearbox gave up at 40,000 miles (and citroen wouldn't replace it, insisted on 'repairing' it!) and so far in the vRS I've done 27,500 miles, with no faults other than a headlight bulb so far, I don't really miss the handling of the GT, as the extra speed, reliability, and fuel economy in the vRS MORE than make up for a bit of a soft ride....

I really miss is my S3 but I dont miss is ins and the fuel consumtion what I really miss is the 4 wheel drive

I am 45, and I AM getting old, but being a Yorkshireman, and only acting 17, I want both performance and economy & it suits me fine.

I am not even bored with it yet, which for me is saying something, although the standard cornering capabilities versus performance could/can be improved (W.I.P.) :)

yeah, traction sucks, traction in mine has been slightly worse since changing the front tyres to F1's, (although cornering grip has improved) I may try the toyo's next......

I swapped a Clio 172 for a vRS Fabia and I have never regretted it, it was the ride quality, which really swung it for me as the Clio was so jiggley over all but the smoothest roads, the Skoda is like Rolls in comparison plus the chronic service from Reg Vardys Renault.

You soon forget the Clio

You're saying we're all old??!!

Hi everyone, my first post on here! Just had to get that out of the way! I currently own a clio 182 trophy(until thursday anyway) which is an awsome car but the insurance and petrol costs are getting a bit silly! I do roughly 1000 miles a month and petrol is costing between

We have just stuck a complete gearbox in a GT as it decided to spit its diff out..lol

Bleedin wiring faults on it, nightmare. I would seem in a bid at cost effectiveness Citroen make all the wiring looms 'just' long enough. Wires keep breaking off at plugs where as things move about the wires are to taught and break.

A trophy to a VRS. Best slow down for those corners.

Best to test the Fabia and the SEAT equivalent. Might also be worth a ride in a "fettled" Fabia.

Would help if you put a location in your profile...
