Hello all,

 

I just wanted to find out if anyone has experienced anything similar or if you have an idea of what the cause could be:

 

Since 2 weeks ago, the front left driver window stop working, but right window, locks, mirrors adjustment works fine

The technician checked the fuse and we found it ok.

He disassembled the front door's panel and checked for any dampness or corrosion in the wiring, everything is ok

He asked me that the window motor regulator unit is failed, and he replaced this unite by another one (used part)

the result is:

 

The front right passenger window is stopped !

The mirrors adjustment is stopped !

The front left driver window is works, but only for 10 minutes, must unplug and plug battery each 10 minutes if want this Window work.

 

The question is: is the first and the second window motor regulator units failed?

 

Please help me

 

N.B: the rear windows are manually.

He may have to code the new part with his diagnostic tool or vcds.

 

I had similar on mine when my rear locks failed and had a new motor and lock unit fitted.

The technician said: if one of the both front doors doesn't  work, don't need to program with diagnostic tool, he said the window motor regulator unit need to be changed by another

I want to confirm this before to buy a new regulator unit

I would recommend to scan for fault codes and focus on those as it must have dropped something in memory as for faults..

The technician completed the scan and he said that the window motor regulator unit need to be changed by another ! what do you think when only one rear window move (open/close)?

I want to confirm this before to buy a new regulator unit

Not sure..but maybe the second used regulator could be faulty too..

But for the first unit only the front right passenger window works, and for the replacement unit only the left window works !!

what's a regulator? please do you have a picture or any document about this regulator?

Have you checked the door wiring at the hinge for broken wires which is a common fault ?
