Scary Moment

Featured Replies

Was Driving along quite an open road and my Oil pressure light came on  I Pulled over and switched the engine off immediatley and called the AA. The AA Were there in around 8 Minutes  and he could not find anything wrong with the car. Oil level was fine, and all pipes/connections. He said the engine sounded okay too. End result was that the light did not re-appear. He said that a faulty oil pressure switch was a known problem and it should be okay to drive to the dealership, what do you guys think? Is it worth driving just incae something is wrong with Oi pressure:confused:

Good that you stopped. I would have done the same. :)

Often though, it would usually come on after an encounter with something hard, so I wouldn't be too worried myself if the oil light came on during normal driving without any sort of impact. I'd still check the level though, and take a peek underneath at the sump and turbo. :)

I'm not lucky enough to have a turbo :o Will give the dealership a ring and see what they say. The AA Have said it will be okay to drive so if the engine gets wrecked I assume they can be held responsible?

If there is low oil pressure it won't really matter if you're careful. I'd get the AA to tow it.

Do you think it would be in my rights to ask them to tow it even though no fault was found though?

If the light comes back on then it needs to got to a Skoda dealer to be repaired. I wouldn't drive it with the light on.

when I was referring to turbo I meant its what I'd do with my car, sorry. :o Not pointing your lack of forced induction. :o

If no light appears when you take it to the dealer, just drive it. Should be a fault code generated by the light coming on anyway.

I Just love these freindly and informative error codes :finger:
