Fuel consumption in summer with ac

Featured Replies

What are your figures for fuel consumption when car is stationary / in neutral and ac is on / off?

For me, with ac off maxidot displays 0.7l/h, while when ac is working hard this can raise over 1l/h.

Is this normal?

Depending on what engine you have then probably yes.

My 1.4tsi usually shows 0.5L/hr rising by 0.2 or 0.3 when the a/c cuts in.

Similar figures to my previous 1.9pd mk2.

Don't forget that the % increase in consumption will be greater at idle than when under power, and that the AC won't have to work as hard at speed.
