Car mat nipple clip broken - what are the options?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have a octavia vrs 2016 and one of the round clips - drivers footwell for the mat is broken.

Does anyone one know whether the clips  can be replaced singularly??

any ideas how to remove the carpet or is it just a case of pulling??

is it a new carpet throughout (seems bit illogical)??

Are the clips screwed down to the floor?

any advice appreciated!

I had the same happen to a previous car with the same style fixings. I took the sill cover off and lifted the carpet so that I could reach the retainer nex to the transmission tunnel. The top piece screws off the bottom piece. Once all the parts were out, I could see how it fitted. I filled the broken piece with epoxy glue then fitted a screw through the bottom half and mashed them together through the carpet. Job done.

They just screw into the carpet, try un-screwing it.

Are these the ones ?
