18 month old and 54k miles

1st was the drivers side vent din’t move. Fixed under warranty after 2 months old

2nd starter motor broke after 35k Miles. Also fixed under warranty and I don’t use stop start at all now.

3rd handbrake has stopped workin. In at dealer on Wednesday.

 

as I’ll be out of warranty soon eg 60k or 2 years let’s hope these are the last of my problems

I might have missed something but in my information starter is not used on Start and Stop but generator instead. Starter is only used for initial start of the engine.

 

Wiser people can correct me though.

No, the superb has a conventional starter (beefed up fir stop/start) and alternator. Starting always uses the starter motor. This is the classic micro hybrid setup.

 

Mild hybrids use a flywheel mounted combined starter/generator/motor assist often 48v. Seen only on high end Citroens and Audi and the like
