Octavia Full Size Spare Wheel

Featured Replies

I am looking to replace my 2008 Octavia Estate - and need to know the latest version that has a well in the boot sufficient to take a full size spare. Would this be the last of the A5 models in 2013, or is in still possible on the newer MQB models? No way do I want to rely on Squirty Sealant - and I'm VERY RELUCTANT to go with a Space Saver.  All great in Manufacturers Speak - but no help at all on a 400 mile journey on a Sunday afternoon!

The new-to-me 2015 Octavia 3 Scout came with a 205/55r16 on a steel wheel in the well.

If you go with the spare wheel option and the variable boot floor, then you get a skinny 125/70 R18.  Spare wheel option with a standard floor you get 205/55 R16. Both steel wheels and limited to 50MPH.

You can fit a full size wheel in the wheel well but it will slightly lift the boot floor.  I carry a 225/40-18 in summer & a 225/45-17 in winter in my 2012 Octavia VRS. As far as I am concerned a spare wheel that is not an exact match for the wheels on the car is useless.
