200,000 up

Featured Replies

Passed the 200k mark this week in an 06 2.0TDI

Not the first 2.0TDI to have done the distance, but I've done them all from new so know every mile. Very little motorway driving in that total, mainly A road driving

Still on original clutch, exhaust, suspension and a screwdriver or spanner has never been anywhere near to the engine.

New brakes and I've been very strict on good quality regular oil changes.

Not bad value for money!

That's great to hear, a 2LT with this mileage too.

How about cambelt changes, surely needed a spanner for then, lol. I do get your angle.

Such a good car you got there a keeper, even if you get some expense your way.

Only another 38,800 miles or so and you'll reach the Moon

Just proves how good these engines can be if looked after................

Oops, forgot about the cambelt. Chickened out at 158k, looked it over and mechanic agreed with me that it had plenty of miles left in it.

Really, no cambelt in your ownership ?

Poor English from me. We looked at the belt after the change, so it's had a new belt, but it was hard to see any wear, even when twisting and and stretching the old belt.

158k still amazing for the first one. I have had several first @ 4 years under 40k. Then 125k then another. I forget when.. Next one due at 255 on 228 at the moment.

187k here...on a 2.0 petrol vRS, also 2006. They built them strong! Recently replaced all four corners of the suspension but that'll be thanks to our bumpy lanes and speed humps.

Those are some very respectable mileages you've got there folks.  The 187k on the petrol gives me hope as mine has just ticked over the 102k mark so there's plenty of life left in the old barge yet!

208k on my 1.9 estate, and 256k on the wife's VW Caddy 1.9. both with remaps :D Not sure about the caddy, but the octy is on the original Turbo, internals etc, just a clutch change when I bought it at 85k. Only repair ever needed was a rear brake caliper. Thats a proper car ;)
