the best car skoda sell

What is the best car Skoda sell?

Most refined. quiet, value for money, space etc.

all of them - seriously this is so subjective you can make a case for any of them. For my money the Octavia Estate in petrol form is hard to beat. I've had 6 of them.  Others will undoubtedly offer you other views ;-)

Yes very subjective as everyones idea of value for money is different. Depends on your budget i would say. But from what you describe i would say a superb.

For me it would have to be a Fabia, small compact family car, super mini as a hatch and a family car in estate form.

He did say refined quiet and space thats why i said the superb

It all depends on your taste of car type as Škoda’s are good value in general but it’s team Kodiaq all the way here!!!

To spin this a bit, what Skoda car has the best drivers seat/most upright "sit up and beg" seating position?

I guess the Kodiaq or Karoq?

Reason as a 60 year old Sciatica sufferer, I really really like the "sit up and beg" upright Recaro seats in our "G" Wagen, having repeatedly tested them over 20 years, and wish to near-as-possible replicate this seat/seating position in a car.

Room for my Hat would be a welcome bonus!

Sit up and beg, wear a top hat, most foot space and space to get the seat belt fastened, the Mk2 Fabia.  But then low to get out of.

Kodiaq or Karoq, easy in and out, but annoying sills, as the Yeti had, and the front of a Superb or Octavia has limited space at the feet IMO.

Knock shins / calf or artificial leg on the Sills.  All bl00dy annoying.

Thanks Offski.

And since my only* footware is Lowa high leg combat boots(as a result of a 45 year history of turning my ankles, prior to the Lowa's) I also need reasonable size 8 footroom.

Limited footroom being a very minor gripe re the "G" Wagen, due to the bulky transfer box/ transmission tunnel.

btw I presume the bulky sills are their for strength/occupant crash protection.

And yes even the Octavia is a lot lower for entry and egress than I like, but I felt the Superb was even lower than the Octavia, back in 2010 when last choosing.

I went for an Alhambra to go with a Jimny daily driver. (Had the wee cars for 19 years)  Both Easy in out, sit up and beg.

Alhambra for wearing Top & Tails (Stovepipe Hat if i want) and if the Hearse Breaks down the Coffin can go in the SEAT.

No leather seats were a mistake on my part. I have waterproof seat covers, but a SUV is so much easier into with Leather IME.  Heated ^ Vented Cooling Leather,

& now a heated front screen.

Alcantara in any SUV or really any car is useless for me, i stick going in and coming out and getting comfy is a PITA.

Having choosen a Volkswagen Galaxy back in 1998, for;

1. The decent 1.9TDI engine

2. Loads of room with removable seats.

3. A decent, for me, driving position, with seat mounted adjustable armrests.

I may yet have to re-visit the Alhambra option.

cheers again,

marcus

P.S.

Der Galaxy still parked up with 253,000 miles on an absolutly untouched engine, radiator, clutch or exhaust, the gearbox needing an oil change, well actually the oil was not there to be changed, was the only issue.

Soon they will be no more, if not already discontinued.

I should have had one years ago, but the last TDI's / DSG's are just crackers.

I have 16" Tyres, no roof rails, and the Cloth must be the most absorbent SEAT could find, but i wanted simple, but it is on Motability, i should have gone for the really no more expensive at the time bling model.  As it is though the 16" tyres are a treat compared to the 18's.
