Roomster MK1 - Amunsend+ and CAN GATEWAY retrofit

Featured Replies

Dear all, I need your help.

I've bought Skoda Roomster 2006 (model 2007) 1.4 TDI, and I am very happy with the car. Recently I've swapped Dance radio with Amundsen+ navigation system and got some issues. You may already know but i have a problem with turning on/off automatically when I turn on/off the car. Also, VCDS doesn't have access to navi.

I've been reading about swapping CAN GATEWAY, so I went and bought GATEWAY from 2013, but didn't have luck finding one in my car. I've searched above accelerator pedal, but there wasn't any. One guy told me that my Roomster has CAN GATEWAY integrated in BCM modul.

If that is the case, is there any way to crate setup that works with Amundsen+ in my car? Do I have to change BCM to be able to use new GATEWAY, or is there BCM that has integrated GATEWAY with version that works with Amunsen+?

Hopefully someone here will be able to help me. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE:

I ordered this little thing from ebay  https://www.ebay.com/itm/CANBUS-Simulator-Gateway-Emulator-Adapter-VW-RCN210-RCD210-300-310-510-RNS315/232729331726?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

It arrived yesterday and I fitted it right a way. This solved problem with power drain, unit now starts with the car and turns off with the car, my integrated bluetooth now works great. Since this adapter cuts off CAN HI and LOW from unit, now i don't have synced clock. Also, on the scheme about how to fit this emulator the orange wire is not shown, however that wire is used for button lights and needs to be connected to some button in the car that lightens up with headlights.

The navi directions and general communication with MFD doesn't work, but that is not important for me at this time.

Hopefully this will help someone since it is cheap solution.
