Chris

K&N I heard lightly over oil the filter meaning that the MAF may get damaged, not sure if anyone has actually suffered this or if it's just a myth or something that "used" to happen.

I read a very large artical on the difference between K&N and Green. It was some American web site, basically the conclusion they came to was that the Green filter was of a "slightly" higher quality (I hope someone has a link to this because I cant find it on google).

All performance filters whether it be K&N, Green or Pipercross will need cleaning every 6k or so. The cleaning fluid & oil costs about £15 a time and is only good for 2 applications, so these filters can work out pretty expensive given time.

I must say though that post fitting of the PD160 Intake the air filter gets dirtier quicker and DEFINATELY needs a good clean after 6k miles (I do mine every 5k, just so I remember at what mileage it needs doing, e.g. 5k, 10k, 15k etc).

that brill cheers so i think will buy pipercross or green unsure which yet though (choices choices) but i appreciate all the feedback thankyou.

PS car is great amd is so much better than my coupe!!!!

Get over yourselves with this whole over-oily issue with K&N filters!!

K&N rules, they ain't over oily, I've had one for quite a long time now and have had no problems with the M A F. And when I last cleaned it, I had done over 15K and it wasn't really that dirty at all.

So K&N rules.

:D
