Superb speaker upgrade

Featured Replies

Anyone ever stumbled on this offer (yes, I know, the price is a bit hefty)?

I'll have to replace my driver mirror very soon (meaning I'll have to strip the door card down to do it) and once I'm at it, I'll probably add some sound-deadening material to the door, for experimentation of course, and the biggest thing that I'd like to do then is to upgrade the speakers (not ready to go DSP or to put various amps in the car, just to get a richer sound from the stock Columbus) ... who did something similar, what are the measurements of the speakers, and what is good value-for-money in that regard? That being said, I'd probably be doing all doors, but not at once (fronts, then eventually the rears).

I'd be wary of any manufacturer I'd not heard of before....

I did consider replacing the speakers in the front of our Superb and had looked at Focal. I have the 'upgraded' Sound System stereo in our car which I believe is a 3 way component system for the front. If your is the stock two way(?) system then something like this might be a better option than the Soumatrix....

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

It is nor  a problem for me to get (at least for the main speakers) the wiring adapters for regular coaxial speakers ... my personal preference would include Alpine or Hertz, but I'll probably run into an issue of not being able to find a suitable tweeter ... Focal would be slightly up regarding the price (at least in these parts)
