RS suspension on a non-RS Octy

Featured Replies

Straight fit? Or bodge it and scarper?

Springs and dampers = striaght fit

Whole suspension, including ARB's and associated bushes and links = not so easy.

Bushes and ARBs done :D

Just need to change the struts and springs, which takes about 90 mins. Just wanted to make sure it was a straight swap before I did them. Was more concerned with the fronts (rears are dead easy and are identical) as I know the RS has different ARB pick up points.

Ahh, your car is a TDi isnt it ?

The front springs on the VRS will be different and the increased weight of your car MAY result in it sitting too low.

Nah, it's for a "friend"

If you need an oem vRS suspension setup I have a complete used set in the garden shed boxed.

How did you use them without taking them out of the box ;) ?

How many miles Manny? Been offered a set with about 15-20k on them for not too much

Just to confirm.

vRS front suspension is different to regular Octavia front suspension.

If you just want to fit vRS dampers and springs to a non vRS no problems. However you cant do the reverse (cant see why you would want to anyhow).

And if you have vRS fronts you could also fit a vRS arb

They certainly used to fit ;) with no bodging involved - just the ARB as others have said - you end up with two redundant eyelets where the droplinks would attach.
