Audio ideas and tips fo my mk1 vRS

Featured Replies

Hello,

I got a poor sound in my mk1.

I am looking for a flip out radio unit, whichever may support rear camera and iPhone Carplay.

also I dont want a subwoofer, just 4 speakers that will fit in the original door panels for a deeper sound, and amplifier if recommended.

please advise for

-flip out radio with touch screen and support for rear camera and iphone car play

-4 speakers, front door 2x speakers with 2x high tone speakers, same for the rear.

-amplifier if recommended.

it is a daily car, me and my wife with child will be in the car most of the time. So a nice clear sound will be appreciated, no need for fat bass

for example, I was looking at this radio, what to go with it, which speakers and what amplifier?

Focal / Hertz / Rainbow for speakers.

What is the size to fit a Fabia mk1 front and rear?

any specific models?

I fitted a set of alpine 2 way door speakers. You have to make sure which ever ones you pick arent too deep for the recess as they will hit the window rail behind. As for a head unit, just get a double din unit which will fit straight in. I have a kenwood dab unit with a reverse camera fitted and it works well. Built in amps are not great so would recommend a small external amp to get the best sound out of them, especially as you arent running a sub they will need a bit of power to drive the bass.

I used Pioneer speakers & they were good...

I would not bother with a sperate amp...as you can fit a good "double din" size HIfi  with satnav in the fabia....

I thought about this. But in my opinion the position of the screen would be pretty low. And I like bottons while driving.  A popup screen would be perfect.

and it would leave me the small storage room.

I would like to know some model that somebody has installed and it fits in the doors, speaking of speakers.

for the radio I will se, would like to leave out an amp, but will it sound good. Not avarage.

for example:

Speakers with spacers FRONT

Speakers with spacers REAR/FRONT

Since, my rear door are leaking, my front left window is making strange noises and probably needs some mechanism fix. I would need to take the door panels apart for a couple of days, install the damping foam and give it a go with all 4 speakers, 4 hightones, and radio. and seal it up afterwards.

Should I install all 4 speakers the same brand or I think these second alpines are less strong and they should maybe go in the back? I would like to have decent sound when I turn the car radio up when alone, since child in back, or when the radio is turned down, that I still understand the voice not the road noise.

I have been thinking about a pop up screen as its single Din size, however looking closely the screen will obstruct the centre air vents while it is in use so making them useless,  so for me that is out specially in the summer.

I never use the upper vents on the console.

the radio in first post, has adjustable screen angle with memory and I may use it with screen tucked in. Even hands free works with sreen tucked in. And only 1 din size.
