Is making a particular driving mode persistent possible (instead of always defaulting to normal mode when you re-start the car? Have any brothers or sisters done it successfully before? 

It always is persistent on my L&K. It always remembers the last mode it was in and the gearbox remembers too. Mine is a DCC suspension with DSG gearbox though so that might be the difference.

Some people have noted that it remembers the driving mode when set in E but the gearbox doesn't. That isn't the case with mine for example as "E" appears on the driving mode and gearbox after a complete restart (iginition off, getting out, locking doors, unlocking and restarting etc).

what model year is urs?

 

as far as i know, i believe either MY15 or MY16 models would remember the drive modes.

models after that, no good.

It's MY17 manufactured in July 2017

Mine was built March 2017, MY17.

Many others with MY17 and MY18 have experienced the same.

 

Why is yours an exception? Hmm.......

 

When u say after restarting - r u doing this within 10-15 mins?

Does it still remember after not using the car for a few hours - like overnight?

I can leave it for a week. I don't drive the car all the time as I work from home with no need to travel. It remembers.
