Slow Rear Parking Display

Featured Replies

My new 15 plate VRS when going into reverse the parking sensor displays as normal and works ok, when I then go forward or out of reverse it takes a age to drop out of the display or turn off the beeps, so much so I end up cancelling myself.

This never happened on my 14 plate elegance previously

Any ideas what or why causing it

Cheers Simon

Reverse screen on mine also takes several seconds to disappear after I put into drive, but not sure about beeps.

Do you have front sensors as well? If so it sounds  normal for the display to stay on till your traveling forward at over 5mph or so, or switch it off yourself.

It’s normal for later models. The reverse screen now turns off when you exceed a certain speed. It can be changed with VCDS or similar. I think it’s just in case you roll back. You’ll now still get an alert if there is something behind you.

i thinkyou can control the beep volume from the settings on the stereo. i would like to change how the time it takes to turn off from finishing manouvres.

Hi yes that is what this thread is about but another search said it can be done in vcds so without being able to look I was hoping the delay was in one of these units and would second guess it was in visual display, but don't know without the tool

Unfortunately I'm not a vcds expert either
