Air quality sensor Faulty

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have Skoda Superb 16 plate, I just bought the car 2 months ago from Skoda dealer.

I was checking the car yesterday via obdeleven, and I found one error in Air Conditioning:

    Trouble codes:
B10AF04 - Air quality sensor Faulty
            Intermittent

Do you think I can change this sensor under warranty or I have to pay to get it replaced?

Regards

Clear the fault code and run the car for a while. If it reoccurs take it into the dealer.

I have already cleared it out but after few days it came up again.

Seems I have to take it to the dealer hopefully they agree to change it under warranty

If its from a main dealer there is no reason why it wont be changed under warranty, if you have remainder of manufacturers warranty. If that isnt quite a year left it gets topped up by an extended warranty. As all used cars get a minimum 1 yrs warranty

Yes I actually managed to get 1.5 year of extra warranty plus the default 1 year as used approved car from the dealer

My 2015 1.6 Superb 3 showing the same fault code, B10AF04, so aircondition sensor. Anyone have the correct part Nr? And recommended best place to buy it?

Thanks

I got one off Amazon recently: HELLA 6PX 012 684-011 sensor, air quality.

Mine is also not working, elected not to get it fixed last time it was at the main dealer, seems a bit of a week spot. Any idea on the replacement procedure?

Remove the plastic trim at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side.  Sensor is just under the plastic.  unclip sensor, and unclip cable.  Refit in reverse order.  Takes about 5 - 10 min.  Then reset error code.

I don't have a code reader, does that matter? Will the new sensor work?

Many Thanks, Munster. I'll get that one. Anything special to watch out for when fitting it?

Steviedakota, it will most likely store the fault code as historic, meaning that even after fitting the new one, it will show up as a fault when its scanned. So then it will need to be cleared, and checked again after a bit if driving around, and then it should be gone, erased.

Can't get mine to clear, even after replacing the sensor

Is the new sensor working?

How can I tell, if the fault code is still there?

One way would be if you knew someone  with skoda and a functioning air sensor, and swap them over, and run a scan again? Other than that, I don't know how to check it. Its possible that its a faulty sensor, even if its brand new. Its been known to happen. Otherwise, it could be an electrical connection to the sensor that is at fault. Can you check if there are any earth  or live wires connected to it?
