The latest Wrangler and the Rubicon Trail

I do like the Wrangler. I think it appeals in the same way as a Defender.

I thoroughly enjoyed my three door diesel and had some great fun exploring our high country.  Zero straight line stability on a highway though, so you did have to ‘drive’ it all the time.

Lower spec Sahara in the UK have £6,000 of them and are still over £30,000 new.

The Rubicon will be a crazy price in the UK.

They are the best 4x4 by far as they arrive standard compared to anything else, no doubt about it for offroading.

Still the Toyota Land Cruiser is the SUV to have if you want comfort on road and around the world.

If good enough for the UN & IS and the Taliban it is good enough for the rest of us.

You’re right about desirability.  Mines sold sight unseen within 5 minutes of listing to a bloke 1000 kms away.

There were Land Rovers from 1948 and you might have thought that as they evolved that by the time it was Jaguar Land Rover they would understand about metals, galvanising and coating and fastners, bolts, nuts and captive nuts and non compatible materials and corrosion / rust.

It is sad to see a 3 year old beautiful shiny Defender and then Red Rust at the rear where Crossmembers have always been an issue, as are the steps and other poorly manufactured or coated parts.

When the easy to spot stuff is there you know that there is worse hidden where the rust traps were never addressed.
