shark fin for GPS

Featured Replies

i've been trying to find anyone who has retro fitted a shark-fin to a bolero car. i'm replacing my bolero with an Amundsen with NAV and cant find any images of how the gps shark-fin is fixed to the roof or what size the aperture is?. the hole looks as though it is a diamond shape? and how is this fin fixed from the underside?

looks to me to be the big alen bolt in the middle, seems to have 4 arms that contact the underside of the roof

thats what i thought just wanted to makesure there nothing under the roof like a bracket missing. so its a diamond shape cut in the roof. :o

watch this space....

I'm thinking the Diamond shape sits on the top of the roof and then it's tightened using the allen bolt from the inside, the hole in the roof should be round.  Like the hole for a normal car ariel

The 4 prongs and the bolt on the inside and the shark fin With the diamond shape on the out side.   I think if you remove the rear interior light you can get to the position where it needs fixing.  If you undo the bolt does it come to bits ?

can anyone with this style aerial provide some measuerments? how far is it from the back of the fin to the edge of the boot lid? (centering it is straight forward).

if i cut a round hole will the prongs not just pass though as they are on the long edge and will fall inside the diameter of the smallest hole?

Hi Johnny, 105mm from the base of the fin to the front lip of the tailgate opening on a MY16 estate.
