DSG Rattle?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2016 1.2tsi Yeti with a rattle, clatter.

It appears to be on gear changes and worse when approaching speed bumps and then accelerating away.

So in down and up changes.

I can replicate it when I’m in 5th and ease off the accelerator and then gently tap the accelerator as the car is slowing, it’s a momentary clatter/rattle.

Hard acceleration doesn’t cause it.

Any ideas, it’s going in on Wednesday for its second service (16000), Just wondered if anyone had any ideas as I’m sure the dealer will say normal even though we have another the same that doesn’t do it!

Thanks all.

The thing is it can be normal.   Well normal with noisy ones where there is nothing that can be done to stop the noise.

Skoda have built over 3 million DQ200 DSG's , that is 2,200 a day and for years people have complained about the Cattle grid noise with some.

Some people even accept it as normal and those that have ones that are not noisy might feel cheated.

Plenty threads in Briskoda on the subject if you want to search.

If the Master tech finds no other fault to cause the rattle / noise and says it is the DSG then ask what VW / Skoda have done to resolve the issue after a decade.

There is a TPI for the DQ200 DSG's from 2014 on,  The Famous DQ200 Clutch Slip.

You will find that thread in the Fabia Mk3 section where some have had new clutch packs and a software update.
