I believe there is a low and a high version camera. The high version has the guide lines that change with steering input, and also has different modes.

I thought the low version had the distance bars but they didn’t move. Could it be your dealer has fitted a 3rd party camera.

Off topic but I would have thought on a 2018 model the head unit would be the latest model without the knobs.

That's the Amundsen unit - it's only the Columbus that has no knobs.

Sorry, my mistake then. I though the Amundsen had been updated as well as the Columbus and done away with the knobs.

Hi

The dealer retro fitted the reversing camera on to my Kodiaq, I have no idea if it was a low version or a high version, but it does show the parking guide lines which move dynamically with the steering wheel.  I also have the ability to view the camera in a straight down position or or in the standard reverse position. My head unit is a Columbus 2017 version (two buttons and smaller screen)

I have also read about some VCD or OBdeleven coding that have to be completed to give the full functionality I did see this somewhere on web.

At least for Superb II there is a separate module, which transfers low version camera into high - the same that creates the quiding lines.

I have tried touching the screen but nothing happens I thought that would be a way to change views but this seems to be the only view I can get the radio was upgraded to a Amundsen in my 2018 SE so thought it would be easier help

Might be worth asking the dealer what it is exactly that they've fitted?

Slightly OT but my (12/17) S3 L&K Columbus doesn't have the knobs but I thought they'd since been re-introduced to make it less awkward to use? :worried:

Sadly not.

I am 99% sure that an aftermarket camera has been used. If you look at the reversing camera, it should be integrated into the handle/button for the tailgate. This is what you need to get.

I'd be a bit annoyed if a franchised Skoda main dealer was using non-genuine parts.

This guy fits the genuine kit for £280...

Hi - I have just bought a kodiaq and looking to retrofit some items but cannot make out the auto tec contact details on your image. Could you possibly send them over to me?  Many thanks,

Slightly OT.

Had a coil spring replaced at a dealers. For some reason they couldn't source a Skoda one. So they fitted a non OE which was cheaper. If they hadn't informed me, I'd have been none the wiser.

Still covered by Skoda 2 year warranty.

Makes you wonder what other non Skoda products are fitted by dealers during servicing and repairs.

Are you on Facebook? If so search for Chris Farthing.

If not you can see his contact number in the top right corner...

He works for DM Keith Skoda in Yorkshire which may be a bit of an issue if your in Buckinghamshire?

Hello - thanks for the advice.  Unfortunately i am too far away for him.  i have seen a firm called 'vagtec' advertise their reviews make them look shambolic.  Does anyone have experience of them or anyone else?

Evening all, has anyone removed the tail gate trim to install a camera? I've managed to wire in a RCA cable and tested the camera all fine. Just stumped at getting the wiring around the tail gate, any advice would be much appreciated

You mean front the car Into the tailgate if so then through the original rubber but If its a full size rca I’m not sure if it will squeeze through never tried on kodiaq but on other cars where it’s tight I’ve had to remove the plug and use a new rca solder up and seal or dismantle if it’s been a high end lead
