2016 Octavia MkIII Panoramic Sunroof Won't Close

Featured Replies

My panoramic sunroof has ceased closing again even after a trip to the Skoda repair shop approximately a year ago. The same problem as last time - the panel opens fine without noise or issue but bounces instead of sliding back into the closed position (flush with the roofline). Is anyone aware of what the issue may be? I checked the rails both prior to going into the shop last time and now again but they are not obstructed. The "repair" last time was that they lubricated the runners and sent us on our way. Warned us that if found to be our fault it wouldn't be covered by warranty and so would incur a ~$200 inspection cost if found to not be a warranty issue. We weren't compensated for the inconvenience mind you.

If you haven't already, open and close without turning the switch, let it be in 0 turn position. Just hold the control it up and then down until it finishes the movement and see what happens.

Unfortunately didn't work although I'm not sure I followed your instructions properly (couldn't quite understand). Took the car to the dealership and they serviced the sunroof during the week just gone, tested, had no problems but now it's not closing again and rain is expected Monday. Sick to death of this!

Does it close before it bounces back, or you never get to close it even for a moment?

Just an idea, if ti closes for a moment, to remove a fuse and keep it closed for good until you sort it out. Why dealership doesn't book you asap, since the sensitivity of the issue? You can't leave a car roof open.

No it doesn't dip in at all but good suggestion.

Mines done this before and you can reset it with the switch and it sorts it out. I can't remember how you do it. Try search bar at the top

Took this back to the dealership and they reset and recalibrated the open / close limits so now it's back to normal
