Skoda service moans

Featured Replies

Do you need to know my inside leg measurement too?

Just wondering what you did in the Motor Trade in After Sales and your Motor Engineering training.

Vw warranty manager

Nissan service team leader/skoda warranty

Nissan workshop controller

Renault service advisor

Renault workshop controller

Currently left trade as it is possibly the worst trade to have gotten in imo.

Anyway this is way off topic.

So interesting, what Motor Industry training in Technical engineering or Motor Engineering gets you in those jobs or were you a Trained Technician,

or did you ever work on vehicles?

The current Skoda UK Brand Director and the 2 before were all in Warranty & After Sales.

Alasdair Stewart with Bentley and Buggatti and VW, and the last one cam from where ever to Skoda then VW then back to Skoda,

and the latest years with VW and seems to have really got Skoda UK knocking back warranty claims.

Not a trained technician but have stripped and rebuilt my series 2 land rover lol.  A lot of the training i have had was at milton keynes head office.

Thanks.  Lots of training on Sales and Warranty, so was Alasdair Stewart there at that time.  & some decent Seniors like John Good, people that were not Deaf dumb and blind and The man from Milton Keynes says no.

So where did you start on a Service Desk?

Tried to pm you but dont seem to have that option when i click your profile as i dont want to hijack this thread and going off topic.

Sorry for the OT.

But it is pretty much the topic.  Service Moans.

Customers must remember Dealerships sell for Skoda UK that Imports fron te Czech Republic and the parent company is Volkswagen, and we know their reputation, deserved or not.

Approved Repairers and Main dealerships are businesses and so is Skoda / VW UK.

In Gods we trust and anyone else you go by reputation and others experiences.

Maybe learn the job on the job and if the people training or supervising are rubbish then the employees under them might be.

Just because dealership are in business a long time that does not mean that they offer good customer service or after sales service, it depends on the Management and owners.

The staff can change.

Yep totally agree. Top management and service manager is key to how the dealership is run.

Found out recently former Dealer Principal (who had worked his way up the ladder) at Leicester Skoda has left to join Marshalls Honda. Hope the dealership doesn't suffer as a result.

The motor trade is a very small world,  the ones that arent very good move around a lot!

  • What you get in a minor service

  • Oil & filter change (fully synthetic oil)
  • Vehicle inspection test and report*
  • Full vehicle road test**
  • Vehicle & software enhancements from ŠKODA’s database
  • Replacement pollen filter ^
  • Diagnostic check including report
  • Re-set service interval display
  • Wash and vacuum
  • ŠKODA stamp in service book

A major service you get this extra

  • Everything from an interim service
  • Replacement air filter ^
  • Spark plugs ^ (petrol engine) or fuel filter ^ (diesel engine)
  • Remove wheels and check brakes
  • Check/adjust tension of all drive belts
  • Check/replenish gearbox oil (where applicable)
  • Check/replenish final drive oil (where applicable)
  • Check suspension system
  • Check heating/aircon operation

But note the small print

^ These items will be replaced, if required. This will be determined by the manufacturer's service regime data.

Well this must be true if you said so but all I can say is the person who tried to service the car must have forgot to put a new filter in for the oil and then forgot to drain the old oil out and some how managed to  fit a new sump plug without taking the old one out without removing the engine shield made the air filter be covered in flies and made a dirty patch near the intake tube and then go inside the car and make the pollen filter dirty with flies etc, all this without even removing the top engine cover, my point is I was charged for these items that were not replaced, in my book this  fraud perhaps some dealerships need a few visits from Rouge Traders to sort this out
