Sat nav compatibility

Featured Replies

Hi I’ve got the chance of a sat nav and holder that plugs in the top of the dash, it’s off of a vw up is this compatible with a Skoda Citigo or do I need to get the Skoda version, any help or advise regarding this would be great please cheers Paul n Tash

Plug it in and you can change the start up screen to Skoda from VW but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it. Perfectly compatible. Oh, and check all the contacts on the dash are nice and shiny, mine weren't and I couldn't work out why it wouldn't connect.

Plug it into Garmin fresh and you can reset it, then when you plug it in will customise for Skoda. Make sure you get the pin with the device so you can unlock it.

Hi I’ve just had an email back from the guy selling and he said it doesn’t need a pin no to use it but I’m assuming the pin no is to change it from Vw up to Skoda Citigo is that the case please, if so I wonder if there’s a way of getting the pin no as he obviously doesn’t have it,any further help with this would be much appreciated, cheers Paul n Tash

When it's unplugged from the car it will ask for a pin. I thought you needed the pin for a different car?

Well, I had a VW PID, just put it into my Citigo and it connected. At that point it had the VW logo. I changed that, must have been in Fresh as I have an account, but have since put it into another Citigo without needing a pin.

Hi Tash is very happy her GARMIN pid arrived this morning in immaculate condition she has been out and had a play with it setting her phone up and gauges it was apparently in a vw up but it came up instantly with the Skoda logo ,nice little touch it tells you if a door is open,is it ok to leave the dash mount fitted permanently and just attach the GARMIN when the car is in use,Paul n Tash

No reason why you can't leave it there, other than thieving b.......s.

Ahh yes I hadn’t thought of that,I was just making sure that it doesn’t drain at all, ideally I would leave the GARMIN and dash mount together and just plug in when needed but the glovebox is pretty tight Tash has even had to put her sunglasses in the door pocket as the case won’t fit in there  Paul n Tash
