A couple more car considerations...

Featured Replies

You could go for the essex option, Ford Capri 280 Brooklands, or even a Tickford turbo, if you can find one, well within budget, classic car insurance, lary rear wheel drive with power and won't depreciate if you keep upto body etc.

how much cash have u got m8? is it gonna be your daily runner or a second car?

felt it was just another boring FWD hatch, albeit a pretty one. Nothing special.

its 4WD not FWD

Narr.. dont think those should be bought as a day to day car... theyre classics!

besides if walkie can spin a furby which is very very hard to do without a rear ARB... he will surely stuff a RWD within hours

Next time the roads are icey come to Milton Keynes and try some roundabouts.

You can spin any car providing theres no friction.

Thanks for your inputs as always, yet again I've got a lot to think about :rofl:

Obsessed yes - mainly about where your next set of tyres is comming from. The Bridgestones on mine used to do about 12k on the fronts and I did have one issue with trackking which removed 4mm of tread off the inside of the rears in 4k. When the fronts were changed, they noted the rears as 8-7-3.5  )

12000 miles. Good God Man stop lending it to your grandma! I used to get 8000 per set of four from my Yokos on a warmed up Cavalier MKII. I would be well impressed to get 6000 on the front end of an Integra R.

Tyre costs notwithstanding, you have to admit that it is probably the most fun you can have in a front wheel drive car.

He he.

First mod: White socks

Second mod: Windscreen wipers fitted to side windows

Yes I know and it feels like just another boring FWD hatch. It (the Audit TT) is one of the best looking cars that has ever been made, but to drive it is like getting a girl home and finding she is 80% chicken fillets.

It is just not that great or even good a drivers car. Fast, sure, fun, well only if you like understeer as a very dominant trait.

Wasn't that due to the terrible chassis, though? :)

It was not too bad. Bilstiens and bushes had it tied down pretty well. Tyre wear was reasonably even. More likely 140+ BHP and Ferodo competition compound brakes and close proximity of lots of fun roads. Used to get over 10000 from a set o Toyos.
