Turbo upgrade

Featured Replies

I'm thinking to upgrade my turbo what turbo would u guys  recommend apart from a ko4 because of all the parts I'll have to change plus I've heard the ko3s is much more smoother power

If my 1.8T vRS was still on the road, I would have gone for a modified K03 from BBT, TDI Turbos or similar reputable turbo company. Most of the hardware from a stage 2 car can be retained and no messing around converting to K04. As "bolt-on" and "like-for-like" as you could get.

K04-001 is bolt on so best bang for buck. FMIC and new exhaust, and you can get 300HP tops, just under.

Although I saw someone on eBay selling manifolds for a gt28 for the 1.8t's for £120. A Chinese gt28 is £110 and they work absolutely fine if not pushed hard, so all in all if you really tried, you could fit a big turbo on without much at all.

Although, over 300HP requires new rods

I do not think that is possible, even with 023! BBT is creating hybrids to get to that number..

Also, U have one octavia on forum with almost everything that could be bought fot 1.8t and k04-001 and biggest number is 269.

Yeah, ignore my comment, I am unsure where I saw it. I am almost certain someone on another forum mentioned it but maybe just me being stupid :D
