It's closer than I ever imagined now. ;)

Keeping quiet about precise details for now, until I know more in next 4 / 5 weeks. ;) Had some interesting bit of info this morning.

You selling the Mongrel and buying a WRX? ;)

Chris

I take it you have found someone to sort out some of your 'spare' parts ;)

Better start saving for that LSD now mate.

Damn, I forgot about the LSD, but you're on the right tack, Stu. ;) Still not found a cheap source, but if it goes ahead, I'll be using one of the most techie places in the UK for the work I need. ;)

I do seem to remember someone mentioning a certain locality for such work ;)

Well, they've put me on to someone who will do the job lot for me. ;)

Heard a story about a 500bhp passat too. 1.9 TDI one

Injectors then Mr J?

loving the project jason but just wondering how much power you recon you can have realistically without it going bang in a few thousand miles? must be close to pushing the limits?

260 bhp,

rods, pistons, injectors, gearbox, diff, some uprated driveshafts ;)

Should think the way it smokes now that will be some smog machine.

Getting your injectors sorted then. ;)

Spoke to Jabba the other day. Not long now till they offer PD injector upgrades.

whats the difference with uprated injectors then? is it the hole in the middle or way more complicated than that?

Spot on. ;) Not sure its just one hole, but they hone them out to give more flow. Apparently when Bosch hone them out at the point of production they have a flow rate, and they aim their manufacturing to be +/- 2%. Apparently the honing I can get done is accurate to within 0.5% of desired flow.... Which will be 50% more than Bosch allow ;)

I've been warned it will smoke JET black when on full chatter. I sort of like the idea of that. I'm not sure whether to try it on my existing turbo, or go hell for leather and get the the turbo a couple of stages up as well?

Oh, Ross, apparently those bits you mention won't need uprating just yet. Although the story of the 500bhp passat is getting me at the moment - Modded everything in the engine it sounds like. And I wish I knew where to get uprated driveshafts.
