Hello All, a helping hand please. I've already had a search around, but no definitive answers have cropped up.

 

I tried this morning to do several VCDS tweaks for a fellow member ( @bajabugsteve ) on his MY17 facelift VRS, but came across a good few stumbling blocks whilst trying to implement a pair of them.

 

The first issue came whilst trying to enabled the traffic sign recognition. The first 2 changes went through OK, but when trying to enable the third change on the long code helper, it wasn't on the byte nor bit which the guide says to go onto. The option for the sign recognition was found (IIRC on byte 4) but VCDS kept bringing up an error when clicking on do it (either unable to read or unable to access). These options are different to my MY16 VRS. As I didn't want to cause any damage,  I moved onto the next one.......

 

.......High beam assist. Now again, I couldn't find the option on the central electronics options. I looked up and down several times but was unable to find anything which remotely resembled the option. Again, like the traffic sign recognition, I left that well alone so I don't cause a problem. 

 

Putting on the cornering fogs, reversing down mirror and rear lights on with DRL's worked fine, so some of the tweaks work and some don't.

 

Anyone who's used VCDS will know a lot of the options are in German and can be difficult to navigate round, but the main change I saw was a lot of options had Gen2 on them. I would assume that's because this car is a facelift model. No other car (including MK2 Octavia's, Mk2 Superb's and Mk3 pre facelift Octavia's) has ever had those on and anything similar.

 

Can anybody point me in the right direction with these please? Also it would be good to find out and update the VCDS page for the MK3 octavia with the appropriate updates.

I've not I'm afraid. I did do one but I never saved it.

Thank you @tunedude and @langers2k, much appreciated.  I've seen on another forum thread @wg100 has done some work a FL model.  Maybe he has some nuggets of information....?

Amending users

I've managed to get HBA and TSR to work on my MY18 Scout. If you search the forums, the instructions for HBA are on there. TSR was enabled with a bit of intuition, as the naming of settings has changed in the FL models.

@bajabugsteve I see you're in Liverpool. If you fancy a drive to Huddersfield, I'm up there this weekend for work. I could take a look on Sunday morning or early afternoon.

Yes, I think the change in naming conventions for the FL models seems to be the issue. I think @tunedude is on the case though -  maybe I should have a crash course in German so I can help!
