Look out http://www.peroduacars.com/kancil.htm - it's the Perodua Kancil!!!!

Kancil the whole project

Oops' date=' that's right in Pajero or Nova country for the Spanish market!

But to fair, it's pronounced Kahn-Cheel, the Malaysian/Indonesian word for this:

Does look neither quick nor robust, does it? :D

So on second thoughts - yes, kancil the project! ;)

Something Daewoo Matiz like about the Kancil. Much of the range actually seems copied of of other far east manufacturers. Mind you Top Gear did say that the Kelisa was the real 'new' mini, which I suppose is fair.

Dont forget that Daewoo is wholy owned by GM now.

On the path of "cheap names"......I was roundly put down by someone I went to today who had a Seat, and when talking about her car I said I had a Skoda, she quickly replied that "they were the cheap end of Volkswagon, whereas her Seat Toledo was Audi derived!!.

She honestly felt I obviously didnt fully understand the rich history of Seat.

And yes..........I couldnt help myself laughing...and yes she got the hump.

Oh yes - and boy, haven't they produced some wonderful cars - their current line up.....

The Agila (no - that'll be the Daewoo)

The new Astra (that's taken all it's design rules from the Renault VelSatis - and made it even worse)

The Vectra (the stylists joke that actually went into production)

The Signum (errr.. so just to whom is that aimed?)

The Meriva (what - are you really sure about this?)

The Frontera (The Mudfeara - "how many parts fell off today Sir???")

I've parked my Octavia next to Transits' date=' and it's been about the same length but that doesn't make it a van!

The Octavia is classed as a small family car, hence is in the same group as Focus, Astra, etc. Basically, if it was a company car it's driven by junior reps.

Passats and Mondeos are the territory of senior reps and management.

And since the demise of the Scorpio, the Mondeo has had to cater for the executive range too...

Rob I am afraid I have to disagree in several car magazines the Octavia has been group tested along with Passats, Mondeos and Vectras. I have never seen it group tested with Astras, Escorts/Focus, Golf etc.

Car journalists are feckless idiots. If they said the earth was flat it wouldn't make it true.

Well, I suppose it's nice of them to believe that the Octavia IS as large as the aforementioned vehicles and clearly you believe this to be the case William, so I bow to your greater wisdom. I just wish my Octy had the greater width and rear seat legroom that yours obviously does.

BTW - what mags were these group tests in?? I'd like to get some back issues!

Part of it is true, though. Seat and Audi are in one design group, while VW and Skoda are in the other.

And women only have eye for a car's exterior, haven't they? :D

They're also quite particular about the presence of a vanity mirror on the sun visor...:D

And an increasing number want one above the driver's seat as well!

Mine was very disappointed that it wasn't illuminated

And she wasn't impressed with Mr ffelan's Tuscan on account of the fact it didn't have a mirror at all!

Dunno why they can't use the rear view mirror to put their lippy on like most of the other SWMBO's do - but only whilst driving on the M25, of course...
