they are struggling to cure my steering wheel light problem

Featured Replies

My light stays on when i start the vrs and i loose the power steering from cold and they have had it back in dealer 3 times now. It only does it occationally.

1st time. No fault found and reprogrammed the ecu

2nd time. Found a stored fault and changed the sensor on the steering.

3rd time. This time i drove the car there when the light came on and they plugged it in and got a connection error from ecu and another part or the dashboard.

Skoda recommended a reprograme again although it was communicating properly. They tried to reprogramme the ecu but this time it wouldnt respond and let them do it.

Oh dear its going in next week and i have been given a hire car cos it will take 2 days. What do you think they will be replacing??

All under warrenty so im not too bothered so long as they dont take it to pieces and it rattles when i drive it afterwards

I would think its a problem with the PAS pump if its not got a com link with the dash.

sounds like the pumps gone faulty , we have similar problems with some new shape ford focus , i.e. no communication between tester and modules , we can sometimes fix this by disconnecting the battery for a bit then trying to reprogram as if a new pas pump module fitted
