Goodbye VRS, Hello Yeti

Featured Replies

After 10 years and 170,000 miles it was time to move on from my Fabia VRS.  With 180k on the clock it was still on the original clutch, turbo, alternator, aircon gas charge.  It was the sight of corrosion appearing on the forward sill that made me start seriously thinking about a change.

So yesterday for brief time there were two Skoda’s on the drive as I collected a MY2016 K&L 2.0 DSG Yeti.  Later that evening, serious cash changed hands and the Furby was gone.

So to has the simplicity of its basic ECU’d engine and bulletproof 6 speed box.

Now I’m reading up on tales of woe of DSG, DPF, Haldex and more.

Thanks to these forums I was able to obtain the correct servicing schedule and remind the Skoda dealer that 40k and 3 years brings forth several important milestones :wondering:

So I’m moving on from my Red hot hatch days and into the comforts of 4x4 and auto driving

I’ll miss my dependable and economic steed but hoping this new one will try to live up to its predecessor
