Snapping sound from front when going over soft bumps.

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Want to see if anyone has an idea of this before booking it into the dealer.

When going over soft bumps in low speeds I get some sort of snapping sound from the front of the car - it snaps just once when passing a bump. Nothing loose hanging under the car.

It sounds like something that should be fixated is allowed to move just a little bit and creates this sound. It only makes this sound in slow bumps not when it's a sharp bump, edge or something similar.

Also - how do you guys feel that the car behaves in quick bends where the road is uneven? Compared to my XC70 I would say that the XC70 sticks to the road much better when it comes to quick bends and uneven road at the same speed. My superb sort of bounces sideways (small bounces).

Dampers are ok, no transport blocks etc.

Not sure but isn't there a "known issue” regarding noises from some DSG cars when going over speed bumps?

I think I read in the Kodiaq forum of similar issue, someone found it was a gearbox mount or something like that.
