PD 170 BMN reconditioned turbo, head and more

Featured Replies

To cut a long story short, I rebuilt this engine myself a few months ago and made two BIG mistakes. First I went overboard boring out the cylinders, then I cleaned the injector tips on a wire brush wheel. The engine runs just fine, but is smoky and the MPG is far too low, which is pretty much what you would expect from damaged injectors and oversized bores. That said, I spent a lot of money on the rebuild and there are lots of new parts that would be ideal for the rebuild of a BMN engine with good injectors and undamaged cylinders.

To be more specific:

1. Reconditioned Garrett GT1749VC turbo. Not an eBay job, but professionally rebuilt with genuine parts and fully tested by Universal turbos. Oil feed pipe is also new.

2. Rebuilt. skimmed head with all valves and seals replaced.  Cam bearings were not replaced.

3. New water pump, cam belt and tensioner.

4. New oil pump and chain tensioner.

5. New oil and water temp sensors.

If you are considering a rebuild of your BMN engine and are interested, I'd take £500 for the lot. The only thing missing from the engine is the air filter box (MAF sensor is still on) and the DPF. Intercooler, pipe work and ECU are all intact. The easiest thing to do would be to just take the car (which has pretty much been gutted in every other respect), remove what you need in your own time, and sell what's left for scrap to make some of your money back.

Will leave this up here for a couple of weeks in case there are any takers, then list on eBay.
