I would say that the superb felt like a bigger and more refined version of the octy.

How on earth did you end up at that conclusion hahahahahahaha

If it's comfort and refinement your after then of course the superb is for you. If you want something that looks more sporty and is a bit more chuckable then go for the vrs.

Or wait for the rumoured RS version of the Superb...:giggle:

I was out for a test drive today. Here is my verdict.

The cars were both diesel. The vRS 184 hp DSG and the Superb 2.0 150 hp manual. To begin with, i was disappointed with the 184 hp engine I the vRS. I don't know why but the 150 hp in the superb seemed so much more even in the power output. More refined in some way. As whas my overall experience with the octy vs superb. I didn't feel the 34 hp difference in the smaller vRS to be honest. A bit disappointed.

So I'm heavily leaning towards a Superb. Style trim level plus some more extras. There is no doubt that the octy felt sportier, and I believe that the petrol engine would have magnified that effect. But my overall experience is simply that the superb was a more refined and premium car.

As we speak about sound insulation, it was also noticeable that the superb was quiter.

Agreed. I havent tried the petrol vRS but the diesel I tried didn't feel that quick/ and the Superb deffo has a more premium feel.

Folks, I've decided to go for a superb! Will move to the Superb area in the forum for my other questions :)
